Data Analysis is a special, upstream task of an ERP selection process. The amounts and the origin of data will be identified, analysed, trends identified by the data analyst, and predictions developed and thus converted into information that will help to make better decisions for the business. e.g.: Was an investment successful? Why was it successful? And based on which evaluation criteria can this be meaningfully assessed (e.g. more sales)? Should a company repeat this investment?

In order to be able to give reliable answers here, the activity as a data analyst includes several steps:

  • identify (new) data collection systems;

  • converting the right data from external and internal databases;

  • converts raw data into the appropriate format (Data Wrangling);

  • establishing the requirements for ERP related queries;

  • generating and developing ERP reports and definition of correct KPIs to cost-effectiveness the business processes can be read.
